FAQs

What is the application of Forelock floor?

Fortelock floors were developed for a wide range of applications in production, garages, workshops, basements, warehouses, gymnasiums, laundries and in many other areas.

What do I need to apply Fortelock?

No special tools are necessary. A rubber mallet for easier connection of interlocks and a knife for cutting at walls are recommended.

Is Fortelock floor resistant to oils and other chemicals?

Sure. The polymer structure of Forelock floors is resistant to most oils and acids.

What happens to water or the floor?

Fortelock floor interlocks are really tight, so only a minimal amount of water penetrates under tiles. Furthermore, Fortelock tiles feature a special system of Airflow channels providing "breathing" of a tile, so that water can easily evaporate from under the tile. Compared to other systems, no putrefaction and odours due to standing water can occur under Fortelock floors.

Does this floor insulate?

Yes, Fortelock floor is both a heat and sound insulator.

Isn't there an increased fire hazard?

Thanks to Fortelock floor components, which choke fire by themselves, this flooring is classified to the category "difficult to ignite".

Do I have to prepare my floor before Fortlock installation?

Mostly it is enough to sweep the floor. Oil or other impurities do not matter. If there are holes in your floor, no damage to Fortelock will occur (only unevenness); however, it is recommended that you pour cement or other mixture into the holes in order to make it easier to use the floor.

How do I finish Fortelock floor at walls and entrances?

Cut the edge tile 5 mm from the wall using a knife. Add Fortelock ramps to the tiles at the entrance.

If damaged, can a tile be replaced?

Of course, one or more tiles can be replaced.

Isn't the floor too slippery?

On the contrary. Floor patterns feature perfect anti-skid properties.

How should the floor be maintained?

Generally, the floor does not require more than water, detergent and a mop. If you need to increase shine of the floor or clean extreme impurities, we recommended the product range by Dr. Schutz company.

Can I use the floor for outdoor application?

It is not recommended; however, it is possible if the user expects possible changes in colour and volume of tiles.
